After a messy end of the distribution and the sudden license sale to a Chinese company, Yumeiro Cast is back to all their fans as a paid game (no online required) titled “Yumeiro Cast: TAKE A CURTAIN CALL”.

What a wild ride it has been for Yumeiro Cast!

The franchise started to be distributed in 2015, impressing with its stage/musical actor + fully voiced story + rhythm game concept.

It featured two theatre companies:

Sega announced the end of distribution of the game in 2018, with the game closing its doors to fans in January 2019.

A couple of months later, Sega licensed the IP to a Chinese company. As such the game was active in the Chinese market as Yumeiro Cast however without the rights to the seiyuu’s voice in the drama parts.

Now, and surprising everyone, Sega announced that it is working on porting the full game Yumeiro Cast as a one-time paid app for smartphones.

Titled “Yumeiro Cast: TAKE A CURTAIN CALL“, the game is going to hit Google Play and Apple App Store on September 29, 2024.

The game will have a set price and be a one-time-only purchase.

Some contents from the original game – that required to be online – will be available offline, allowing fans to play the game for as long as they want.

According to Sega, this is an archive app, meaning that all the content it had at the time of closing will be available to play.

Of course, expect timed events to not be a thing but as far as playing the songs and reading the story go, you’ll get to experience it all.

But there is more!

The release is scheduled for September 29, 2024, which marks the 9th anniversary of Yumeiro Cast.

Sega is currently in the process of producing new songs alongside Lantis and creating original main visuals for “Yumeiro Cast: TAKE A CURTAIN CALL”.

More updates will follow in the coming months. Watch this space for more on this game release.
