Yuichiro Umehara has been rushed to the hospital after feeling unwell.
Arts Vision confirmed today that Yuichiro Umehara was rushed today to the urgency after feeling unwell. The talented seiyuu was later diagnosed with acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, an autoimmune disease that attacks the nervous system.
Umehara will have to go on indefinite hiatus to focus on recovery and treatment from it. From today on, all activities are halted (that includes any music, drama CDs and anime he hasn’t recorded so far) until word from Arts Vision.
Tsukipro also issued a statement mentioning that they are discussing with Arts Vision Umehara‘s participation at this year’s TSUKIPRO LIVE 2018 Summer Carnival alongside his fellow SolidS members (to take place on 17/06/2018).
Arts Vision mentioned that fans are allowed to send him fan letters to support/cheer him up during this difficult time. The address is the following:
YUICHIRO UMEHARA c/o ARTS VISION 3F MATSUDA Bldg. 1-14-3 Yoyogi Shibuya, Tokyo 151-0053 JAPAN
Letters sent to this address are going to reach Arts Vision and then sent to Umehara. You can write in English and Japanese (although it’s advised to write in Japanese as Umehara is not fluent in English). Let’s shower him with love and support!
We wish Yuichiro Umehara‘s a fast and complete recovery. Please send good vibes and pray for his recovery.
We’ll be following this news closely so be on the look out for more updates from us.

It’s truly sad for someone so talented, and for someone at all, to go through this. I’m hoping for the best, his SideM song “Flying Hawk” is really reflective of the struggle he is facing! Get well soon, Umechan.
Get well soon^^ You can do it!! No matter what happened …..your fans would always be right here to support you and pray for your full recovery ^u^
From the Philippines with love and support~
