WEST SIDE STORY released commentary videos of its cast.
The musical WEST SIDE STORY is going to premiere in Japan this November.
For those that are not familiar with the story, here is its synopsis:
Late 1950’s, West Side of Manhattan, New York. It was the time when the East Side across from Central Park was an upscale residential area, and many immigrants lived in the West Side.
During this time in New York, immigrants from around the world came for dream and wealth. They formed a gang and turned against each other. However, Polish immigrant, Tony and Puerto Rican immigrant, Maria come across incidentally and fall in love. The forbidden love entangles many people and causes a chain of tragedy…The story is a modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. As Arthur Laurents, the playwright of this piece, the librettist put it…This is a story about the struggle for love to exist in a world of bigotry and violence.
