WAVE!! announce release of theme song and unit song CDs

LOVE&ART announced exciting plans for their new project, WAVE!!.

WAVE!! is a mixed media project that puts focus on surf – sport that is included for the first time as an Olympic sport at the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics – through music releases, anime, radio, apps, events and other media.

This project was created by LOVE&ART (behind B-PROJECT and Hi!Superb) in partnership with Surf Magazine, NSA Surf, bayfm78 and Murasaki Sports, and counts with character designs by Yomi Sarachi (Arcana Famiglia, POSSESSION MAGENTA, Band Yarouze!, etc).

According to LOVE&ART, the partnerships with surfing entities will enable this project to be more realistic. There’s also mention on using CG animation – that mixes real surfing footage with computer generated graphics – for this project.

WAVE!! is, in its essence, a story about surfing and building friendships with others that share the same love for the sport. The story is set in Ibaraki Prefecture.

The cast counts with Tomoaki Maeno, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Yoshiki Nakajima, Takuya Sato, Yusuke Shirai, Shunichi Toki, Showtaro Morikubo and Jin Ogasawara.

The theme song (featured in the video above) Ride the WAVE!! is performed by the main cast – Naminori Boys – and is going to be released on 05/06/2019, available in regular edition.

The song is featured in the promotional video (below) released in 2018.

At the same time it was announced the release of 3 unit song CDs. Here’s a breakdown of each release:

  • BFF~BEST FRIENDS FOREVER by オオアライトライ (Tomoaki Maeno, Jin Ogasawara, Yoshiki Nakajima)

More details on all releases are going to be unveiled in the upcoming months.
