This is the first time that Norio Wakamoto releases a book. This is a special occasion after all, as the legendary seiyuu celebrates his 50th anniversary in the industry.
From a 20-year-old graduate, fresh out of Waseda University’s Faculty of Law, to becoming a police officer, and later on discovering his passion in voice acting, Wakamoto’s journey is fascinating.
In this book, 76-year-old Wakamoto goes over his career highlights, how his voice ended up being the most mimicked among seiyuu, and life lessons following a crisis he came across when he was 50 and he couldn’t get any work.
That crisis ended up leading him to reset and train himself and take time to polish his skills yet again. After a lot of hard work, Wakamoto was back with a renewed interest in the seiyuu industry in his voice, something that rejuvenated his career.
This is an essential book (208 pages) for those fans of Norio Wakamoto as well as those that want to know how much the voice acting industry has changed and which challenges veteran seiyuu come across.
