“Waitress” musical release commentary video with Mamoru Miyano

A promotional poster for the Japanese adaptation of the Waitress musical is out. A commentary video featuring Mamoru Miyano is also out.

Mamoru Miyano, talented voice actor, singer and actor was recently cast in the Japanese adaptation of the Waitress musical.

For those that are not aware of the story, here’s s brief explanation:

“Waitress is a musical with music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles and a book by Jessie Nelson.

The musical is based on the 2007 film of the same name, written by Adrienne Shelly. It tells the story of Jenna Hunterson, a baker and waitress in an abusive relationship with her husband Earl.

After Jenna unexpectedly becomes pregnant, she begins an affair with her doctor, Dr. Jim Pomatter. Looking for ways out of her troubles, she sees a pie baking contest and its grand prize as her chance.”

A promotional poster is out.

Mamoru Miyano is cast as Dr. Jim Pomatter.

A commentary video is out.

The rest of the main cast includes: Emma Miyazawa, LiLiCo, and Rinko Urashima.

Waitress is going to run at Nissay Theater, Tokyo from March 9, 2021 to March 30, 2021.

In late April 2021, early May 2021, the musical is plans to have a nationwide tour.
