Characters
SHIMBA vs MIKERA (CV: Daiki Yamashita)
SHIMBA grew up doing what he loved, in the way he loved, straightforward and true to himself.
With a personality that is honest and without pretense, he is the embodiment of a “bamboo-split” personality—open and forthright.
When he becomes passionate about something, he goes all in, but he is utterly indifferent to things that don’t interest him. This results in a striking gap between what he excels at and what he cannot do.
However, he was always the center of attention at the training academy, a standout talent with great promise. His powerful performances gained him a considerable fan following, even among his fellow trainees.
MIKERA offers resistance to being perceived as part of the “cute type” due to his short height and naturally wavy hair, which resembles cat ears.
Despite his cute appearance, he has a strong-willed personality, something he is fully aware of.
At the training academy he attended, he was once almost assigned to a “cute idol group” but declined the offer.
AKASHI vs MEGURU (CV: Chikahiro Kobayashi)
AKASHI is serious and meticulous. He has a strong attention to detail and is very skilled with his hands.
He enjoys tinkering with machines, particularly combining different useful components into a single, convenient device. However, he struggles with adapting to or conforming to others, though he is not very aware of this trait himself.
Due to his exceptionally accurate sense of rhythm, he is nicknamed “Metronome” at the training academy.
MEGURU has a knack for effortlessly excelling at anything he tries, giving off a carefree and elusive vibe.
Since he can do everything reasonably well, he has no strong strengths or weaknesses, but at the same time, he lacks a deep attachment to anything.
He rarely talks about himself, yet he is highly observant of others, often finding great amusement in unexpected accidents or surprises.
There’s even a rumor that he gives a different answer every time he’s asked the same question.
RIAM vs LUVNOSUKE (CV: Shunsuke Takeuchi)
RIAM is attempting for the second time, following the previous VS AMBIVALENZ.
During the last audition, he made it to the final 50 out of 130,000 applicants in the document screening. He successfully passed both the first and second rounds of judging but, unfortunately, could not advance to the final stage.
Because of this, he has a stronger determination toward this audition than anyone else.
When emotions run high, he has a habit of spitting out rhymes, which often surprises those around them.
LUVNOSUKE is a self-proclaimed VS AMBIVALENZ superfan, acknowledged by both himself and others.
He endlessly rewatches the documentary drama, boldly claiming he’s “seen the faces of the previous contestants more than his own parents’.”
Originally attending an idol training academy with the goal of becoming an idol, his desire to pursue this path only deepened after watching VS AMBIVALENZ.
As a passionate fan himself, he feels an especially strong connection to Glanz (VS AMBIVALENZ’s fanbase).
KYOUYA vs MONET (CV: Hiiro Ishibashi)
After choosing not to pursue higher education, KYOUYA drifted through life as a part-timer, until his older brother, unable to watch any longer, strongly urged him to audition.
Shy and introverted by nature, he developed a love for death metal due to his brother, who was active in a band.
He is an excellent singer with a voice described as “angelic” (according to his brother). Because of this, his brother has forbidden him from using the growling death metal “death voice,” which is essential to the genre.
MONET loves sleeping, and his special skill is being able to sleep anywhere.
His sleeping face is like that of an angel in a painting. After sleeping, his best talents are singing and dancing, which led him to train at an idol training school.
During the audition process, he would sleep whenever he had a chance, surprising the other candidates.
His grandmother is French, and he occasionally speaks French.
CATE vs HIROMI (CV: Ryohei Kimura)
CATE is skilled in handicrafts, and the stuffed animal he wears on his head is something he made himself (modeled after their pet parakeet, Chippi).
It’s said that when he wears it, he can speak clearly and cheerfully, just like the talkative Chippi.
He also learned the joy of singing and dancing from Chippi.
His dream is to become an energetic idol and appear on “Mama, Papa, Let’s Play Together!”.
HIROMI has an extraordinary ability to notice small details and take action faster than anyone else, making him an exceptional balancer.
Although he once entered the workforce, he quit his job to pursue his dream of becoming an idol and enrolled in an idol training academy.
Despite having almost no dance experience before adulthood, he demonstrated outstanding talent and made it to the final selection of his very first audition.
However, he doesn’t see his abilities as particularly special. When asked if he was popular during their school days, he simply responded, “I was just average.”
