1- カレイドスコープ
Kaleidoscope kicks off with a beautifully executed intro with a delicate piano and to simply showcase the vocal prowess of the members, an accapella. With a special mention of Miyano and Kimura‘s performance, as Toriumi appears to be overshadowed, vocal wise.
Different from all the other tracks in the unit series, this track still has the trademark elements of the songs in the franchise, but it has adopted a slightly more on the rock genre type of approach.
Granted, the playful and grandiose piano and synths are still present, but all in all the track has much more than just that. Powerful drum work, guitar riffs.
Kaleidoscope has managed to unify the trademark instrumental piece, its major elements – piano, synths – and created a “sound” that has become unique to this unit’s members. This track still has the usual use of the strategy to have at least once all the members sing in unison to create more of an impact, once again something the fans will promptly recognize.
When it comes to the vocal performance, Kimura and Miyano sounded surprisingly well together.
Miyano melted everyone with his falsetto with a sort of sexiness to it and Kimura delivered a flavorful performance that mixed well with the instrumental piece’s genre with nothing bad to point out, Toriumi.
on the other hand, seemed to disappear whenever all the members were singing at the same time, but when singing in a solo part he did alright.
