Tokyo Color Sonic!!: New 2D Music Project Featuring a Star-studded Cast

And 2021 keeps on giving! A new 2D music franchise hops on stage. A big welcome to the star-studded Tokyo Color Sonic franchise.

Introduction

Tokyo Color Sonic is the name of the mixed-media franchise created by sprout and counting with character designs by the popular illustrator Ryo Fujiwara.

This franchise features a 10 main character cast, with characters split into 5 different “buddy” units of singer + songwriter. Until February 2022, the franchise only had 4 teams (8 main characters).

Tokyo Color Sonic counts with drama + music in its CDs and standalone drama CDs that dive deeper into the events in the story.

The cast

Tokyo Color Sonic has a star-studded cast, counting with 10 main characters voiced by some of the most experienced male seiyuu when it comes to 2D music projects.

At the core of Tokyo Color Sonic is a “buddying” format, something that leads to the 8 characters pairing up, thus creating 5 different teams of singer + songwriter.

Due to the members of Tokyo Color Sonic being singers, songwriters, and sound engineers, some characters (and thus, seiyuu) may not sing for some CD releases.

SPHERE RISE

SPHERE RISE (once called TEAM 1) counts with the face of the project Arashi Komiyama (CV: Shoya Chiba) and Sora Kirishima (CV: Yuto Uemura).

Arashi is a vocalist and Sora is a songwriter.

Reboost

Reboost (once called TEAM 2) features Iori Takarada (CV: Soma Saito) and Haruhi Kaji (CV: Yoshiki Nakajima).

BUMPEACE (once called TEAM 3) counts with Towa Sebumi (CV: Gakuto Kajiwara) and Mirai Zaizen (CV: Ryohei Kimura).

ULTIMATE

ULTIMATE (once called TEAM 4) features Kairi Kurahashi (CV: Shunsuke Takeuchi) and Kagura Takatsuki (CV: Takuya Eguchi).

STRANGE LAD

STRANGE LAD consists of Tomoe Miyazono (CV: Yuya Hirose) and Oshiro Sakaki (CV: Yuichiro Umehara).

Tomoe is the vocalist and Sakaki is the composer for this team.

CD releases

In its first season, Tokyo Color Sonic has 5 CDs planned for release. All CDs have drama tracks and 1 song.

TOKYO COLOR SONIC!! Prologue is scheduled to be released on 30/07/2021, available in regular edition.

This CD is going to count with all 8 main cast members in the drama tracks.
