thtfhq awards 2019

Welcome to this year’s THTFHQ AWARDS & Decade Review!

We say goodbye to the 10s and welcome the 20s. However, before bidding goodbye to this decade, we celebrate its best releases in a series of special articles penned by our team that has been consistently, for this past decade, working hard on covering the latest releases and music projects by your favorite male seiyuu.

A note:

“Decade in Review” is an OP-ED series, meaning that all opinions expressed are of their authors only. All content featured on it is copyrighted to its rightful owners. Copy and paste and full translations of these articles is strictly forbidden.

The plan of releases is the following:

At the same time, we made an overhaul on the THTFHQ AWARDS, now in its 2nd edition, and no longer featuring popularity-based categories up for voting.

The THTFHQ AWARDS 2019 kick off on December 20, 00h00 GMT.

Editorial

If you are still reading this: thank you.

Aside from celebrating the best music of the decade and wanting to know what are your favorites, we would like to also thank you for being on this ride with us.

The Hand That Feeds HQ, a small reviews website turned male seiyuu music news and reviews website in 2010, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2020.

Who are we? What is our mission?

Looking back on the small reviews blog that THTFHQ was in 2010, we have grown quite a bit!

The concept of being an outlet that could provide content in English to fans of male seiyuu and their music projects has always been what drives us.

This journey has not been without its mistakes, common in a team juggling daytime jobs with this hobby of ours, trying to hone our skills, learn as much as possible about every project we cover and, at the same time, trying to make the best possible evolution from a blog to a full-fledged website.

What have we been doing in this decade?

Reviewing music, writing massive Seiyuu Digests – initially intended as a summarized version of a seiyuu’s career -, following and reporting on the latest relevant news (no gossip, click-bait articles, or chasing views with fake news).

Many music releases have passed through our hands and ears during this decade.

We had the pleasure of reviewing some of the defining releases of the decade. We witnessed key turning points in the seiyuu industry and how its dynamic with the music industry completely shifted thanks to successful steps in the industry by some seiyuu and 2D projects.

It has been a decade of hard work. However, it is an absolute delight to still be here, following the innovative music projects that are born almost every month, watch seiyuu venturing on solo careers, watch them being successful domestically and overseas. This brings joy to us and is yet another reason why we are still up and running after a whole decade!

Our thanks

Regardless of where the next decade will take us, we would like to thank our readers, sponsors and marketing partners for the continuous support and patronage. These 10 years have been nothing short of amazing.

On behalf of The Hand That Feeds HQ team, thank you for a great decade! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
