The popular seiyuu talks about his 25th career and gives advice to seiyuu newcomers about the industry’s ins and outs in a special essay book.
“47-Sai, mada mada Boya” (47歳、まだまだボウヤ) is going to be published as a photo essay book on 28/10/2021.
This is the first time that Takahiro Sakurai writes and publishes an essay book. The book counts with essays from his serialization corners for the Da Vinci and hm3 magazines as well as new entries.
The cover art is the following:
Taking into account how Sakurai does not have a presence on social media platforms (being one of the very few “analog seiyuu” around), this is going to be the very first time that he’ll dive into his career as a seiyuu – celebrating 25 years in 2021 – and go over its ups and downs.
But there’s much more to this essay book.
Sakurai hopes that through the stories he tells in it from his experience, he can give precious advice to newcomer seiyuu and those who are thinking about joining the seiyuu industry.
From the ins and outs of the industry, the harsh world, and urban legends in the industry to other details that are often overlooked by newcomers, this essay book is going to cover all bases about what being a seiyuu entails.
At the same time, this is a book that follows Sakurai’s story as a teen in Okazaki City in Aichi aiming to be a voice actor up until now.
According to KADOKAWA, Sakurai would like junior male seiyuu to read this essay book, learn from his story and career, avoid his mistakes, and set themselves on a path to success.
A making-off video is out.
“47-Sai, mada mada Boya” is available for purchase at CDJAPAN.
