SOARA are back with their new single “LAPIS BLUE“. Following their previous release, Toshiyuki Toyonaga, Yuki Ono, Makoto Furukawa, Taishi Murata and Chiharu Sawashiro manage to deliver another top quality performance. With this being said, let’s kick off our review on one of the most interesting projects of the year.

Track analysis:
1 – LAPIS BLUE
With a brighter sound “LAPIS BLUE” welcomes summer with laid back guitar work, splashy drums, acoustic guitars, groovy bass and jazzy piano melody. As far as the instrumental goes, it’s pretty simplistic in comparison with their previous release, sticking to the same winning formula where pop-meets-alternative-rock in one hell of an exciting track. Vocally we’re presented with an energetic performance rooted on mid-tones, growing in tension until the strong chorus. We need to thank the ones responsible for the vocals mix because although the group is in total unison, we can still easily isolate each of the members in the track. Nothing is overcrowded, instead we get a completely clean, polished top of the top vocal mix that blended perfectly with the exciting instrumental piece. SOARA doesn’t disappoint at all with “LAPIS BLUE“.
