Seiyuu Awards have officially opened the voting for next year’s edition. The 12th edition of the prestigious award cerminony will take place in Japan in March. Voting is open to overseas fans. For a detailed guide on how to vote, please read this article.
It’s that time of the year. For almost 2 months, fans can vote for their favorite seiyuu in the most varied categories. Be advised that a lot of votes for a certain seiyuu won’t determine that that seiyuu will, in fact, win the award he’s been voted for by his fans. Fans’ votes count for reference for the preliminary round, then specialists in the seiyuu business will determine who will win based on specific criteria in two other rounds. Remember: fans help the voting but won’t determine winners.
Now onto the specifics (a.k.a the Japanese stuff writen on the official website):
- The voting is open from October 1st to November 30th on Seiyuu Awards official website (link below).
- You can vote only once.
- This is not written there but it’s advised that you write the name of the seiyuu you’re voting for in Kanji, the same can be said about the character you’ll be nominating your seiyuu for.
- You can only vote for characters and anime released during the following period of time: 01/12/2016 to 30/11/2017. If you vote for something that doesn’t fit within this time frame it won’t count.
