Track by track analysis:

2 – Sweetie Sweet

This release kicks off with the upbeat tune Sweetie Sweet, song that exudes a bright vibe with its peppy synths, deep bass line and EDM inspired beat. From its sweet yet bright instrumental to its smooth pacing, this is one of the most easy-listening songs in the bi-color series.

Keisuke Koumoto delivers a solid, energetic performance. He showed control over his vocals and even displayed a bit of his falsetto, adding flair to his performance. Solid opening track. 4.5/5

5 – プリズム

Prism changes things around, bringing to the table the warmth of acoustic rock. As it is obvious, acoustic guitars play a major role in this instrumental, adding a laidback, comfortable touch to this song. Drums are mostly hi-hat driven and often have fancy changes of tempo. On the other side, electric guitars have a touch of funk on it, shining brightly with a fancy solo in the bridge. The bass line, just like on the previous song, is instrumental in giving depth to this song, driving the song forward with its groovy melodies.

This duet features Keisuke Koumoto and Tarusuke Shingaki on vocals. This duo has an interesting dynamic that is worth paying attention to when listening to this song. Shingaki is a vocal chameleon that perfectly adapted his singing tone and technique to Koumoto’s. Additionally, since Koumoto has a higher toned voice in comparison with Shingaki’s, it is possible for their vocals to complement each, cover a wider range, while still shining individually. Their harmonies and solo parts are filled with emotion, easily grabbing the listener’s attention. Highlight of the release. 5/5

Final rating:

The final entry of the 1st season of VAZZROCK‘s bi-color series wraps up on a colorful note. morganite brought to the table peppy pop and acoustic rock, making this one of the most eclectic entries in the series.

Sweetie Sweet brought a bit of sweetness and energy to this release while being incredibly restrained about its peppiness. This alone made this song not stand out as much as other similar entries in this series but at the same time turned it into a unique song within this series.

The duet song, Prism, takes pride on its acoustic rock sound. It wraps up this release on a simple, warm note with its acoustic sound, groovy bass lines and funky guitars. This is the kind of song that might go unnoticed – if we compare it with other more “exciting” bi-color series entries –. This feel good song deserves attention.

Keisuke Koumoto showcased his control and consistency in this release. Although he’s done a great job in this release, there’s still room for improvement to add more flair to his performances. We hope that, in future releases, he can further impress us with his growth.

All in all, VAZZROCK‘s 1st season of the bi-color series wraps up neatly.
