Track analysis:

1 – Dear My FAMily

FAM’s frontman Toetoe Inumaki takes the stage for “Dear My FAMily“.

As soon as the song kicks off, you’ll notice the cozy vibe and the love that is in this performance.

As far as the instrumental goes, that cozy vibe comes to life through a bass-focused sound in which the bass and drums team up, creating a comfortable mid-tempo groove.

On top, you have what you can call indie-like guitar work. There isn’t a whole lot of technicality with phrases being quite straightforward – more than enough to convey those feelings of love and pride for Toetoe’s family.

You have as well an organ giving a bit of a “home-y” feeling to this track.

When it comes to the vocals, Tomohiro Yamaguchi delivers a performance that I was not expecting.

He is singing in a slightly higher key for this song and the slowing down in the song’s speed has made it so that he can finally show off how melodic he can be.

As a result, you have not only the perky singing but also plenty of head voice to raise (and, at times, release) the tension in the track.

He sounds more natural and comfortable in this performance than on any other FAM song so far which ended up being unexpected.

What you get in “Dear My FAMily” is a cozy and playful indie-rock tune that celebrates love for Toetoe’s family, in this case, the band members in FAM.

Solid entry with a really fun tone.
