Track analysis:

1 – Kageboshi

FAM’s Tetsuha Inashiro (CV: Tetsuei Sumiya) leads the way with “Kageboshi”.

The song kicks off with a punchy, fast-paced bassline leading the way and setting a groovy tone for this tune.

The verses have a unique duality to them. For the first part of the verse, Tetsuei Sumiya is left to perform on top of an insanely groovy bassline and drums.

For the second part, an electric guitar joins to dish-out cool reversed melodies that add variety and a bit of melancholy to the instrumental.

Things change a bit for the second verse, with guitars being present from start to finish.

The chorus is up-tempo, with splashy drums setting an intense tone while guitars shred their way through the track.

A nice detail in the chorus is those splash flares in the background. It is such a small thing in there but I feel like the instrumental would lack any depth without those countering the powerful bass-driven sound.

With a relentless bassline leading the way, Tetsuei Sumiya – a sweet tenor – has a challenge in front of him. And what did he do? Absolutely nailed it.

It is quite pleasing to listen to him going high on his range, bringing vibrato, head voice, and delivering everything with a lot of power. At the same, he sounds like he’s not even breaking a sweat.

His sweet tenor vocals ended up being the perfect contrast to this groovy yet melancholic rock tune.

This is the type of performance that makes you want to hear more from Tetsuei Sumiya and, at the same time, Tetsuha (because it means more bass goodness will be in the spotlight).

Tetsuha Inashiro’s “Kageboshi” is an awesome performance. At the moment, the grooviest song in this solo series in the ENLIGHTRIBE franchise.
