Track analysis:

1 – Asterism⁂

ROCK DOWN takes the stage with “Asterism⁂”, song that brings to the table a dark muffled rock sound that is not characteristical of them.

The intro is fast-paced and intense with guitars shredding their way through the instrumental as the bassy drums and bassline add a massive punch to the instrumental.

While the first part of the verse is incredibly fast-paced, the second part, leading up to the chorus, is a bit quieter, opening the doors for the vocals to take the spotlight and build up the tension leading up to the first chorus.

The chorus follows the same intense vibe, only slightly raising the tension in comparison to the verses. As a result, you will find yourself riding on so much tension as the chorus kicks in and takes you to the next verse.

As far as the vocals go, this part is performed in 3 different ways. A unison, solo parts, and chants that are far in the background. All 3 lead to an engaging chorus that flies by in an instant.

The dynamics on the vocals this time are completely different. The group opted from having all members take turns instead of singing in pairs or trios. You have all members taking turns in the verses taking the spotlight to themselves before performing the chorus in a unique mix of solo parts, unison, and chants (choir-like).

Before getting to the bridge, the instrumental gets even more aggressive with double-bassed drums, exciting guitar riffs, and pounding drums. The tension rises only to be dispelled by the bridge.

The bridge quiets the instrumental, leading only longing guitar riffs and a simple snarky beat as the group chants in the background, in what is a perfect part for – later on – being performed live.

As the song comes to a close with those dirty guitar riffs – and even a screaming guitar in solo – and powerful drums, you are left wanting much more like this coming from ROCK DOWN.
