Re:vale “TO MY DEAREST” (Review)

The Idolish7 universe strikes again. This time around Re:vale attempted to show a different image with this single, despite the attempt, it failed to deliver something relevant.

Label: Lantis
Release date: 14/12/2016
Genre: J-Pop

Track analysis:

TO MY DEAREST brings in that Christmas vibe. Slow tempo, with inconspicuous jiggles in the background. In the warm melody, Hoshi and Tachibana tackle this track in the sweetest way possible. Despite the obvious increase in quality regarding the instrumental track, there’s something off with the vocal performance, especially Hoshi‘s. He sounds either too forced in some parts or excessively nasal in others. Tachibana‘s performance is not stellar either, failing to grab attention, ultimately sounding too bland. What could have been a good Christmas themed song, fell short because of the vocal performances.

Final rating:3.5 stars

This single is only available digitally on iTunes stores, animelo mix and
