1 – Blue Fire Crater

Blue Fire Crater introduces acoustic elements in QUELL‘s take of the RE:START series. Still following their “natural phenomena” theme, this song introduces to the listener an exciting, adventurous soundscape, almost as if the listener is listening to a campfire song.

The instrumental is, in QUELL’s good fashion, rather simple and without any fancy or loud instrumentalization that will hinder the listener’s experience.

With that in mind, the instrumental puts a major focus on its acoustic sound, with acoustic guitars, a simple bass drum beat, and bassline completing the core instrumentalization.

Delicate strings and atmospheric synths help to add a certain “airy” sound to this instrumental, taking the song from the studio to an outdoor setting. As result, this instrumental gives off warmth at the same time that has an adventurous twist to it.

The Kuga twins, Issei (Shugo Nakamura) and Ichiru (Sho Nogami) teamed up for this performance. After what had been a couple of lacking performances in some of QUELL’s previous releases, both showed with this performance why they’re the heart of this group.

They covered both ends of the spectrum with their versatile mid-tones, delivered sweet harmonizations, tackled high notes, and added vibrato to their performances. It was a complete demonstration of their quality that had us begging for more.

Their chemistry and quality showed in what is one of their best performances. Great all-rounded performance on top of a simple, yet addictive instrumental.
