NEW ENTRY: Ensemble Stars!’s Trickstar and Switch’s releases

As it has been tradition with this franchise, two Ensemble Stars!‘s singles were released on the same day and both chart together during the first weeks. Trickstar (Tomoaki Maeno, Tetsuya Kakihara, Showtaro Morikubo, Yuki Kaji) and Switch (Kenji Nojima, Kaito Ishikawa, Kazutomi Yamamoto) are the two units to chart this time around as they had their take on the franchise’s 3rd CD series.

Matenrou‘s bassy and imposing sound coated with a dark and introspective vibe not only impressed us, but a lot of people in Japan as well as overseas. With this release alone, Matenrou quickly grabbed thee spot as fan favorite crew among the 4 part of the Hypnosis Mic.

The single debuted on #27 on Oricon Weekly with over 3000 copies sold on its first week. Although this might not seem like a great feat, this is the only release part of the Hypnosis Mic project that has sold this much physically in one week. Digitally this release is charting high.

If there aren’t sales figures on the prints we’ve posted it’s because the music label behind that artist doesn’t want to disclose that information. The Oricon charts only count physical copies. Digital figures and ranks might be different.
