Oricon Weekly | Soma Saito, Yuma Uchida and more top this week’s charts

Back with a new Oricon Weekly roundup.

This article covers the 1st week of February – which includes singles and albums released between 07/02/2022 and 13/02/2022.

Let’s take a look at the data.

Oricon Weekly Albums Ranking

NEW ENTRY: Lil Happy & FYA’M “aoppella!? 3”

Lil Happy and FYA’M‘s new entry in the aoppella!? franchise “aoppella!? 3” takes an impressive seat at #4 after selling 10,746 copies.

NEW ENTRY: Soma Saito “my beautiful valentine”

Without any marketing prior to its release – a strategy that was as bold as it was risky – Soma Saito‘s thought-provoking 2nd EP “my beautiful valentine” grabs a spot at #5 with 10,507 copies sold.

Saito continues to write the history books in the music industry for male seiyuu artists.

This is the very 1st time a male seiyuu artist enters Oricon’s Top 10 Albums chart without any publicity behind their music.

A note that, without any marketing behind the CD, 1st-day sales were 7,739 copies (more than enough to enter the top 10 this week); after reviews and magazine features rolled in, he sold an additional 2,300 copies, taking the EP’s sales to 10,507 copies.

This is also Saito’s 7th consecutive CD ranking on Oricon’s Top 10 (all CDs since debut) which is an impressive feat.

After a couple of weeks outside of Oricon’s top 50, MANKAI COMPANY‘s “A3! FULL BLOOMING LP” re-enters the chart at #24 with 1,531 copies sold.

It happens often with the Daily rankings. The Oricon charts depicted here only count physical copies. Digital figures are featured on a different chart.
