Nobuhiko Okamoto is going on a brief hiatus to undergo vocal cord surgery.
Popular male seiyuu, solo artist and radio personality, Nobuhiko Okamoto, announced on his personal blog that is going to undergo vocal cord surgery.
In a blog post released this week, Okamoto let his fans know that he has been feeling throat discomfort for quite a long time.
He went to have his throat examined and was diagnosed with vocal cord scarring.
Due to vocal cord scarring being an impediment to voice acting – as it can tire his voice easily, making it hoarse, and leads to difficulty controlling his pitch when singing, etc – Okamoto announced that he’ll undergo vocal cord surgery in June and will then work for a whole month on his full recovery to return to voice acting and singing.
It was added that, when he is fit to return, both him and the talent agency currently representing him – Pro-Fit – will let his fans know about it, so you don’t have to worry about it.

THTFHQ wishes Nobuhiko Okamoto a swift and complete recovery.
