The cover art for Namimori Boys‘ new single, Densetsu no Surf Prince, is out.
WAVE!! is a mixed media project that puts focus on surf – sport that is included for the first time as an Olympic sport at the now postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympics – through music releases, anime, radio, apps, events and other media.
This project was created by LOVE&ART (behind B-PROJECT and Hi!Superb) in partnership with Surf Magazine, NSA Surf, bayfm78 and Murasaki Sports, and counts with character designs by Yomi Sarachi (Arcana Famiglia, POSSESSION MAGENTA, Band Yarouze!, etc).
The cast counts with Tomoaki Maeno, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Yoshiki Nakajima, Takuya Sato, Yusuke Shirai, Shunichi Toki, Showtaro Morikubo and Jin Ogasawara.
In 2019, at WAVE!! 1st EVENT 〜 Wonderful Party〜, it was announced that the franchise was getting its own anime. Instead, 3 movies are going to be released this year.
伝説のサーフプリンス (Densetsu no Surf Prince) is scheduled to be released on 14/10/2020, available in regular edition.

On a side note: at WAVE!! 1st EVENT 〜 Wonderful Party〜 it was announced that a smartphone game is in development.
In 2019, Namimori Boys (group comprised of the franchise’s main cast) released Ride the WAVE!!, later that year, the group performed SURFDAYS, song featured as the official supporting song for the NSA (Nippon Surfing Association).
