This month, as you’ve already noticed, the theme is once again related with summer. This previous two months I showed you Funky Summer Jams, now it’s time for Dance Summer Jams, but be assured that this time around I won’t leave you waiting for a part one or two, this top will only have 5 tracks. So without any further ado let’s get this Monthly Whisper dancing.

ALBUM | The Prince Of Tennis II Shitenhoji Super Stars |
RELEASE DATE | July 30, 2014 |
TRACK | Age of Aquarius |
Kicking off this Monthly Whisper we have Age of Aquarius with a slow tempo instrumental and lots of synths and pads that’ll really make you wanna hit the dance floor. Now, although Satoshi isn’t in the the anime series he was invited to sing this character song, for a character that does not speak, so I mean we could not expect a better choice and service from him. This catchy melody, is definitely one of the many amazing aspects about Age of Aquarius, and of course we could not forget the main focus in this track, the piano, that is also one of the reasons this track screams of Summer. Also combining the synths and pads, with the drums and, of course Satoshi‘s vocal performance, and we have the perfect instrumental for the dance floor.

ALBUM | START AGAIN |
RELEASE DATE | January 29, 2014 |
TRACK | Start Again |
Starting also with synths and pads and some synthetic drums to create the most fitting instrumental ever that completely made this track perfect for this season we have START AGAIN. This track by Kamiya is surely a “must” for those of you who are looking for a song with a little of little more synths (that resemble with the disco music from 80’s and the 90’s) than Age of Aquarius, but that at the same time sounds awesome and I mean, this whole track makes you hit up the floor, maybe it’s because of the bass or the synths, or maybe it’s the overall instrumental, but after you listen to this track once, you’ll surely, and I really mean it, want to listen to it again and again in repeat. Even if you think this type of genre is a little unusual for Kamiya, do give it a try because START AGAIN is definitely worth it.

ALBUM | M&M REMIX |
RELEASE DATE | July 23, 2014 |
TRACK | DISCOTIQUE09(STY RMX) |
You know those songs that you didn’t really like the original version, but then when a remix came out you, started to love it? Well this is one of those cases, now I know what you’re thinking, because it is Mamo-chan that we’re talking about, and 90% of his songs are really good, but DISCOTIQUE09‘s original version was really annoying so if you happen to dislike the original one, then give the remix version a try, trust me, you’ll see this track through a different light. With an instrumental composed by heavy synths and pads we have this amazing remix with a fresh arrangement that really brought this track to a new side, that is a million times better than the original (in my opinion, of course), and if you search for the name of the man behind this beautiful remix, it’ll even make more sense. STY is the mastermind behind most of the best track Mamoru has, like Break it!, New Order or Unstoppable, just to name a few, just so you notice that those tracks are also the more danceable one’s he has in his repertoire, so you know, when you see STY’s name you have to look forward for a a track made for the dance floor.

ALBUM | Medicine or…? (Prince of Tennis Character CD) |
RELEASE DATE | April 14, 2010 |
TRACK | はじまりは、Ecstasy (Hajimari wa, Ecstasy) |
Here’s one of those seiyuu you wish they had their music solo project because they just sing that well. はじまりは、Ecstasy definitely has a softer instrumental, with its main focus on the bass, synth and pads and also the piano. Now I know this track is already good enough but I really think that it is Hosoya‘s vocal performance that really makes this track a really good one. This is one of those tracks that really have a simple instrumental, but at the same time have it really well blended, making this instrumental with such soft synths that really combined with the elements I mentioned before really make this track a Summer Dance Jam.
TRIGNAL |

---|---|
ALBUM | One Step Forward |
RELEASE DATE | July 17, 2015 |
TRACK | Mission |
To end this Monthly Whisper’s edition we have a fresh song from the seiyuu unit TRIGNAL. With more synths and manipulation we have Mission, a song perfect for the dance floor. The synths and pads really make this song’s instrumental perfect for summer. The chorus in this track is without a doubt the best part of this track, and although you might think it strange when you listen to it, because Eguchi is doing some rap, but HEY, you wouldn’t expect it at all, so I mean it was a good a refreshing surprise. The overall instrumental is really good, and although it has lots of synths and pads, it definitely was well mixed so it isn’t annoying at all as it might have turned out if it went wrong.
With this we end this Summer Jams edition, I hope you liked and enjoyed as much as I did writing it, also I hope you found out some “new” tracks that are perfect for when you feel in the mood to listen to some songs that make you remember Summer for some reason or another. I hope to see you soon and that you’ll look forward for the next edition of Monthly Whisper.
