Track by track analysis:

1 – 眠らぬ夜にスパシーバ!

Russia takes over this release and with it come traditional melodies and a whole lot of fun of Nemuru yoru ni Supasiva!. The Russian touch in this song come primarily through the timeless melodies of the Bayan (instrument similar to an accordian), Russian guitar and Balalaika (3-string instrument). The mid-tempo instrumental is graced with upbeat piano melodies, playful percussion and an addictive bass line that gives depth to this song.

On the vocal end we can only say that we couldn’t have asked for a better lineup. Karino, Komada and Nakajima impress with their energy, skillful deep-tones and vibrato. All around entertaining performance. 5/5

2 – MEET THE WORLD! (RUSSIA Ver.)

Built around a playful piano melody and groovy bass line, MEET THE WORLD! takes pride in its upbeat and danceable sound. Atmospheric synths, strings and simple bass-driven drums add the finishing touches to this instrumental, creating an addictive and, at the same time, inspiring sound. Paying close attention to this song, it actually sounds like a throwback 80’s pop tune – mainly due to its piano melody. This trio delivers a robust performance of an already well loved track among the franchise’s fans. 5/5

Final rating:5 stars

The 9th entry in THE IDOLM@STER SideM WORLD TRE@SURE series shares the charm and fun of Russian music.

With a balanced lineup counting with Yoshiki Nakajima (S.E.M), Wataru Komada (Legenders), and Sho Karino (Café Parade), the performance side was more than pleasing to the ears. The trio was all about their low-to-mid tones in Nemuru yoru ni Supasiva!, song that was way too much fun to listen to. This is a song that is overflowing with energy but, contrary to what is common in energetic songs, it was nothing too fast and overwhelming for the listener, it felt right.

To wrap this release is the well known MEET THE WORLD!, now with a take by the RUSSIAN team. Instrumental-wise the song is already well crafted, with a pacing and a sonority that are easy to the ears and catchy enough to have us singing along to it quicker than with most songs. When you put together Nakajima, Komada and Karino on the vocal end, you get one of the best performances so far of the song, a performance that is warm and incredibly balanced.

This entry is a delight to listen to. It explored, albeit a bit softly, the charm and fun of Russian music while having on the mic a trio that has some of the most interesting and skilled singers in the franchise. Balanced released filled with quality music and performances, a must listen.
