The announcement was made today on Hypnosis Mic special event, broadcasted on Nico Nico, that the rap battle project will return with a second season.

Battle Season” will have the crews facing off in a series in which fans’ votes are important to beat their opponents in order to advance to the next stage for a shot at being named “King“.

The match ups are:

  • First battle: Ikebukuro (Buster Bros!!!) vs Yokohama (MAD TRIGGER CREW)
  • Second battle: Shinjuku (Matenrou) vs Shibuya (Fling Posse)

From what could be ascertained by the official source’s explanation behind this voting system, fans that purchase the physical versions of the upcoming “Battle Season” CDs will receive with it a “Battle Card” in which they can vote for their favorite crew on that release and then submit it (instructions on how to vote will come with each “Battle Card“).

The crew with more votes advances to the next stage and has the opportunity to release more music in a battle with the winner from the other match up. The defeated crews won’t release more music during this series.

A teaser video featuring rap by Subaru Kimura is out on Hypnosis Mic‘s official youtube channel.

At the moment there are no set dates of release for any of the releases. Further details will be unveiled in the upcoming weeks, Be on the look out for more updates from us.
