The Hypnosis Mic continues to rack up Gold Records. Two 2nd Division Rap Battle CDs receive official certifications.
The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) announced the recipients of certifications in March 2021.
With no surprise, especially after taking over #1 on Oricon’s Weekly Albums chart and managing to hold their own on top 20 a couple of weeks after release, two Hypnosis Mic’s 2nd Division Rap Battle CDs were certified Gold in March 2021.
According to RIAJ, a Gold Certification is awarded to CDs – singles, EPs/mini-albums, albums – that reach 100.000 physical copies sold.
“Dotsuitare Hompo VS Buster Bros!!!” and “Bad Ass Temple VS Matenro” hit 100.000 copies sold in March, being officially certified Gold in Japan.
The albums are part of the ongoing 2nd Division Rap Battle series in the Hypnosis Mic franchise. “Fling Posse VS MAD TRIGGER CREW” is already over 100.000 copies sold and will get a certification in April 2021.
