For the first time performing on a 360-degree stage, SolidS and QUELL impressed everyone in July for S.Q.P -SQ PARTY 2017 SUMMER-, we bring you a summary of the memorable event held at Ryougoku Kokugikan in Tokyo.
S.Q.P -SQ PARTY 2017 SUMMER- was held on 16/07/2017 and counted with the complete cast for SolidS and QUELL.
For 2 hours and a half, SolidS and QUELL‘s fans enjoyed live performances, radio corners, and several announcements – at that time, the first teasers and key visuals for the upcoming anime series.
SolidS opened up the event with “KARA DA KARA“, the best song to kick off the event with (due to the chants that hype up the spectators as mentioned in our review).
Upon hearing the intro fans started to cheer, then all members appeared from a flower road. When their appearance was revealed, the cheers were even more intense, it was as if this wasn’t the opening song for this event but a performance from the climax.
All of SolidS was dressed exactly like the character visuals for the event. SolidS‘ provocative performance and lyrics heated up the venue.
They were followed up by QUELL which performed the emotional ballad “HIKARI“. Just like SolidS, all QUELL members were wearing the same clothes as the ones in the character visuals. Dengeki Online mentions that Nogami was even sporting the same hairstyle as his character. The venue listened to their performance in awe.
After introductions by both groups, it was time for the individual stages.
First up was Takuya Eguchi that performed Tide -光の射す方へ-, the only song performed that night that had rap parts on it. Animate Times mentions that Eguchi’s sexy performance impressed everyone inside the venue. Dengeki Online mentions Eguchi’s cool and sexy vibe on stage as he held the stand microphone.
The next one up was Soma Saito. He performed “Canaria“, the spectators were cheering enthusiastically for this song.
Dengeki Online mentions that he was particularly excited with all the cameras around the stage, always trying to make eye contact with them. Saito ended up his solo performance with a charming “I love you!“.
What followed left everyone speechless. Shunsuke Takeuchi got on stage and performed “End of Night“. He was the only SQ member that performed a choreography on stage alongside several dancers. His performance put everyone inside the venue clapping along to the music.
Shugo Nakamura was the next QUELL member to hop on stage for his solo song. He premiered the song 星空 (Starry Sky), part of SQ’s X Lied Vol.3 (released later in July) on stage.
The performance is labeled as ethereal due to the fantastic atmosphere that was at the venue. No apparatus on stage, just Nakamura and smoke on the floor, it was as if he was singing on the clouds. His clear vocals dazzled everyone.
When his performance came to an end the other QUELL members run back to the stage to hug him creating a warm atmosphere at the venue.
After the first solo stages, it was time for the variety corners, in this case, the well-known “Soriraji” and “Quberaji“. For this special 360-degree stage, the members were split into pairs to cover more of the stage.
When the radio corners were over it was time to resume the solo performances.
Natsuki Hanae performed “Good Night My Darling“, an acoustic pop ballad in which Hanae’s gentle voice shone. His performance is praised by Animate Times as well as Dengeki Online.
Yuichiro Umehara followed with 人生ハードモード (Life Hard Mode), rock song released in 2015 part of SolidS‘s vol.2. His energetic performance, even swinging a towel, stood out and kept the energy going inside the venue.
From QUELL came Sho Nogami with 紅く染まる空, song released this year, part of the X Lied series. His high notes shone and, according to Dengeki Online, were refreshing.
Nogami kept the energy at high levels, making the perfect bridge for Nishiyama‘s dancefloor-driven “Niji” released yesterday and part of the final X Lied volume.
At the end of the solo performances, the groups returned for the final group performances. SolidS performed the high voltage “Tokyo Love Junkie” and QUELL the bright pop rock tune, 蒼い水. Loud cheers could be heard inside the venue as they had reach the climax of the event.
For the encore SolidS and QUELL performed “SEXY ☆ SENSE” (originally from SolidS).

This is one of the best things to happen and of course I had no way of being there. I would die to hear (and see) Shunsuke’s mesmerizing performance live. Especially for The End of Night which I consider is a perfect song for his voice, and it’s so beautiful. I saw a video of his performance in a La Corda event and he was so charming and so cute. I love SolidS and QUELL (and Alive!).
