Hikaru Midorikawa, Katsuyuki Konishi, Showtaro Morikubo And More Star In Movie "D5 Five Detectives"

A star studded veteran seiyuu cast is going to star in the live action detective movie “D5 Five Detectives“.

“D5 Five Detectives” is going to hit the theatres on 05/05/2018 and will be later released on DVD and Blu-ray.

The main cast includes Hikaru Midorikawa, Showtaro Morikubo, Katsuyuki Konishi, Daisuke Namikawa and Daisuke Kishio. Expect a lot of suspense for this movie as it is being named a “thrilling detective story featuring legendary voice actors” by some of the Japanese news outlets.

D5 is based on a novel by Elmu Hasuto and its live action movie is written and directed by Gen Takahashi. The story revolves around 5 detectives and their investigation of a rather unusual crime.

The synopsis is as follows:

A stage in a theatre.

On this stage there is a cheap theatrical set of a painting, a chest and a few chairs.
In the very front row of the empty seats sits one guest wearing a cloth hat.

And on the stage, five detectives make their entrance.

These five detectives have all been brought in for the investigation, and have never met each other until now.

The man in the audience is dead.

Just off stage, they are watched by the theatre manager.
The body of the dead man had been sitting there when he arrived.
The voice of “Meister Q” rings out from a speaker behind the painting on the set.

The deceased man was once Seiichi Yashiro, a young, wealthy international IT entrepreneur.
“Meister Q” introduces himself as a close friend of the victim, Seiichi Yashiro.
He wants to “reveal the killer responsible for his friend’s murder from behind a veil of anonymity,”
and for this he has gathered the five detectives.

He has already paid an advance of one million USD to each man.

They are to be paid an additional 2 million USD each as long they solve the murder within 48 hours.
One of the rules is that they must not speak a word of this to police during the investigation.

While at first reserved before one another, their pride takes over and
they begin to delve into the problem at hand.
But this conundrum from Meister Q will involve a trick beyond any imagination…

Will our “Detectives Five” = D5, be able to reveal the killer
and escape danger in the end…?!
