Photobook details
Kobayashi, a native of Yokohama, turns 30 years old this year, prompting him to theme the book around “Exploring My Roots in Yokohama”.
According to TV Guide, the photobook not only features visits to classic tourist spots like the Red Brick Warehouse and Yokohama Chinatown but also showcases his sporty side as he enthusiastically devours a hamburger at an American diner and expertly skateboards in the park during sunset.
Furthermore, he exudes sophistication in suit attire at the picturesque Sankeien Garden, channels the image of a literary figure in traditional Japanese clothing at the classically styled Berrick Hall, and displays a refreshing yet maturely sexy demeanor in a suite room overlooking Yokohama’s breathtaking views.
The photographer for the book is Yumiko Taruki, who also captured Kobayashi for his first-ever magazine cover on TV Guide VOICE STARS vol.21, released in 2022.
Under Taruki’s lens, Kobayashi’s potential as both a voice actor and a subject is maximized.
The long interview featured in the photobook candidly reveals his upbringing, journey to the present, and future aspirations.
It truly encapsulates the past, present, and future of “Voice Actor Chiaki Kobayashi” in a timeless volume fans can’t miss.
Comment from Chiaki Kobayashi
“Releasing my first-ever photobook on the milestone occasion of my 30th birthday is truly an honor. When I first received this opportunity, I honestly lacked confidence, but I was reassured by the support of those around me who said, “You’ll be fine”.
I am truly grateful for their encouragement. Thanks to the team who brought out my current charm to the fullest, I was able to approach the photo shoot with confidence.
Yokohama, where the shoot took place, holds special memories for me, and I believe I was able to be more natural than usual. I would be delighted if everyone could purchase it and enjoy it. Thank you very much for your support.“
Chiaki Kobayashi’s 1st photobook “CHEER” is currently unavailable for purchase at CDJAPAN but you can find it at Amazon Japan (they ship internationally).
