40th Animage Anime Grand Prix: Soma Saito wins Best Voice Actor Award

The results of the 40th Animage Anime Grand Prix awards are out. Soma Saito takes home the Best Actor award, as IDOLiSH7 dominates all categories for this year’s edition.

Anime Grand Prix is an annual prize decided by the votes of readers of the magazine Animage. The categories up for voting are the following: Anime of the Year, Best Voice Actor, Male and Female characters of the Year, and Song of the Year.

Best Voice Actor

According to Animage’s readers, the Best Voice Actor is Soma Saito.

Saito, 27, is known for his roles as Tenn Kujo (IDOLiSH7), Tsurumaru Kuninaga (Katsugeki Touken Ranbu), Tsubasa Okui (TSUKIPRO THE ANIMATION) and Kai Ichinose (Piano no Mori). Saito got a total of 437 points.

He was followed by Yuki Kaji, 32, recently active in anime such as Shokugeki no Souma (Terunori Kuga) and Attack on Titan (Eren Jaeger). Kaji got 314 points.

In third place is Kensho Ono, 28, with 256 points. Riku Nanase (IDOLiSH7) contributed heavily for Ono’s high rank.
