Seiyuu Awards opened the voting for their “Most Valuable Seiyu” category. Get to know how to vote with this walkthrough guide.

It’s that time of the year. Time for the voting on the Most Valuable Seiyuu category at the Seiyuu Awards!

MVS or Most Valuable Seiyu is a relatively new category in the Seiyuu Awards, having been added for the first time in the 14th edition.

According to the information provided on the official website, it is asked of fans to vote on the seiyuu they think has been the most active (anime, variety, radio, games, drama CDs, music, etc) in the past year (October 1, 2019 up until September 30, 2020).

This category will be solely determined through fan voting so vote away – but remember that only 1 vote per account is counted towards the vote tally – and spread the word about it with fellow seiyuu fans.

  • The voting is open from September 15th to October 31st
  • You can vote only once at Seiyuu Awards Website and Kadokawa
  • There is not confirmation on whether voting on Twitter only counts 1 time
  • You can nominate either a male or female seiyuu for this award
  • You must follow the voting rules for each platform, otherwise your votes won’t count.

HOW TO VOTE via Seiyuu Awards Website

15th Seiyuu Awards: how to vote via Seiyu Awards’ website

Head over to the official website (copy and paste this address in your browser to access the website)
15th Seiyuu Awards MVS

Fill in the first line with the seiyuu’s name in KANJI

Family name in the 1st box and given name in the 2nd box.

In this example, I added the name 斉藤 壮馬 (Saito Soma) <- yes, I am voting for him -> you can google your favorite seiyuu’s name in kanji and remember to fill in the box correctly.

Fill in the first line with the seiyuu’s name in FURIGANA

Same thing you did with your pick for this award in the step above.

Family name in the 1st box and given name in the 2nd box but now in Furigana (basically, hiragana).

There are some platforms on the web that help transcribe the kanji into hiragana but beware as some seiyuu have their names with weird readings that might not translate into a correct hiragana reading.

Always double check the hiragana by searching it and seeing if your choice turns up in the results. You can always ask a friend of mutual that knows Japanese to help you with the hiragana spelling of the name.15th Seiyuu Awards MVS 3

Check if the name in Kanji and Hiragana readings are correct

If those aren’t correct, the Seiyuu Awards won’t count the vote.15th Seiyuu Awards MVS 4

Hit the CONFIRM button

HOW TO VOTE via KADOKAWA’s website

This one might be a bit intimidating at first – especially if you’re not familiar with Japanese – but, in its essence it is simpler than the voting on the Seiyu Awards website.

1 – Go to

This is the page you get.

The order of contents is the following:

  • Your Family name
  • Your Given Name
  • Tick your gender (only available male/男性 or female/女性)
  • Your email address

Then, on the box at the bottom, you write the name of the seiyuu you’re voting for, in the Most Valuable Seiyuu Award, in Kanji.

It should look like this:

How it looks once you’ve filled in all info

And hit the button next to the “100%”.

You will reach a page in which you’ll get to confirm your data as well as if the name of the seiyuu you’re voting for is correct.

Hit the button that is circled in the print screen below.

Confirm your data and the name you voted for. Click in the button highlighted in yellow.

VOTING COMPLETE. You can now go spread the word about it with your friends and mutuals.

Voting complete – you can exit the page

Voting is done on THIS WEBSITE. If you get an error message, please try the following:

  • Visit Newtype’s official website and scroll until you find a violet outlined box.
  • Click on the link that says「KADOKAWA」第十五回「声優アワード」. It will redirect you to the voting page.

How to vote via TWITTER

Although this seems like the quickest and simplest voting method, truth is, it’s the most complicated, especially to those that aren’t familiar with writing names in Katakana.

To vote for your favorite seiyuu, you have to TWEET exactly in the following order:

  • The seiyuu name written in KANJI
  • The seiyuu name written in KATAKANA
  • Put the hashtags #声優アワード #MVS15

Example: 声優太郎 セイユウタロウ #声優アワード #MVS15

It is not set in stone that you can only vote 1 time via twitter. My suggestion would be to vote daily and not spam the hashtags.

Results are going to be announced in 2021 (specific day and month to be announced).

A note that next year there won’t be a ceremony due to COVID-19.

The awards for this and all other categories will be announced via radio broadcast and the awards sent to the winners.
